Here are the few pieces of Rescue Ranger art that I've ever done. In most cases, I haven't really drawn anything. I'm more of a computer person, usually modifying or combining pictures rather than starting from scratch. I hope you like what you see, though.

At first I wanted to try creating my own background, but that turned out to be much too difficult for me to pull off with my lack of artistic skill. So instead, I pulled backgrounds from "Pluto's Christmas Tree" and one of the RR episodes, which I think turned out nicely. It took about as long to put the background together the way I wanted it as it did to work on Gadget, so it was a signifigant portion of the picture. Gadget herself had her fur lightened and hair darkened to make her look more normal. I also trimmed away most of the eyeshadow so it wasn't so overpowering, and ended up redrawing nearly all of her lines to try and get rid of the "cut out" look and make her blend into the new scene. Finally, I redrew her mouth, erasing the pouty lips and replacing them with a more natural Gadget smile.
2007-03-06 Update
Well, thanks to the unfortunate timing of the release of this picture, just before 2006 ended, this hack job was still fresh enough in people's minds that it got nominated for, and won, a Golden Acorn award for Best Costuming. Fortunately, it turns out that it was actually a three way tie between myself, Chris Fischer, and another Rangerphile artist named Rye, so I don't have to feel totally bad about taking an award away from a real artist, since two of them also won the same award.
I do realize that it's an honor to have been given such an award, and I am grateful. Seriously. It's just that I don't feel worthy, since it's more of a photomanipulation, rather than actual new artwork. Without the hard work of talented REAL artists, like Fish, Rye, and especially the original animators who drew the series, I wouldn't have any material to work with, since I can't actually draw anything of my own. But still, thank you to everyone who voted for me. I do appreciate it. Just please, don't do it again. Save such accolades for those more deserving.

"Well, Chip? You did say to wear something red."
A combination of two official Disney RR poses. I colored Chip and Gadget and then created the background. I got the idea for this one after Winston scanned some pictures that had come in a rare RR press kit he'd won off of Ebay. I don't think anyone had ever seen that pose of Gadget before, and after noticing that all the scans were perfect for coloring, I had to try it out. Then I got the idea of changing the colors, and this scene was the result.
